Oct 16: Prompt: Describe a time when someone’s words had a lasting impact on you.

my father used to always say "that's life son" whenever he saw me relaxing. since he's gone, I've always thought about it. I try to live by it in a sense, hearing his saying whenever I find a moment of life I appreciate it. the impact will last for hopefully my whole life, because I love the way I see the world now. I was not in class that day.

Oct 14 Prompt: Today, you had the opportunity to express yourself through poetry. Reflect on your creative writing process. What did you find most enjoyable or challenging about turning your thoughts into a poem? Did this assignment change the way you think about poetry or creative writing? Explain your experience.

writing a poem was natural to me. I felt calm and at ease. I usually write lyrics so it was the same nature. I took a lot of inspiration from hyenas since I've been sort of obsessed with them recently. I hope to do this again. in class we wrote a poem.

oct 13:Write about a moment when you had to step out of your comfort zone.

whenever I have to play soccer, I always get nervous. I always feel pressured when I have the ball, and I want to just freeze up. I know I have to keep going though, otherwise I wont get better. this is me basically stepping out of my comfort zone to learn from my mistakes. in class we read about a poem about a poet and them being a sort of acrobat. the poem was fun to decipher. I enjoyed it. (I honestly don't remember that day.)

Oct 12: Talk about a time when you had to write a poem, whether it was for an assignment, event, or special occasion. What was the writing process like for you, and were you proud of the finished product?

the writing process to making a poem is a bit difficult. I feel as if I have to try my best to make abstract ideas make sense and join them together. it takes time for me to be satisfied with what I come up with. I always try my best, and find it fun to find the words to encapsulate my ideas. in class, we read "constantly risking absurdity" the poem was honestly fun to try to understand, and it came to me pretty easily, which makes me feel better about my understanding.

Today, your group had to work together to earn 100% on the “A Worn Path” assessment or write an essay. How did this challenge affect the way your group discussed the story and made decisions? What did you learn from the experience?

 wasnt at school that day.

In A Worn Path, Phoenix faces several obstacles as she makes her way toward her destination, but she continues because she has an important reason for completing her journey. Think about a time when you had to travel somewhere or work through obstacles to reach a destination or goal. What challenges did you face along the way? Was the journey worth it in the end? Explain why or why not.

every week I have to film for the news. its always a road of obstacles because of having to make an idea, work with others, and hope it comes out good. sometimes people cancel, and ideas don't flow, but I always make it work. its always good to see the good grade come in, and I think its worth it. I love the class, but the stress when every week is done and another comes can be overbearing. I find it all worth it because I love AV tech. didnt go to class.

In “A Worn Path,” Phoenix has a memorable encounter and conversation with the hunter during her journey. Think about a conversation you have had that had a lasting impact on you. What was the conversation about, and how did it change your thinking, perspective, or actions?

as a kid, every conversation with my father meant something to me. I looked up to him, and I felt as if we never talked a lot. because of that, every conversation I had with him meant that I took something from it. every scolding, reward, or gesture was picked up by me, and that's why I'm the way I am now. in class, we read through the story, "a worn path" I think the story was good, and was shocking towards the end.

Today, you continued working on your "The Life You Save May Be Your Own" PowerPoint project. Think about the creation process. Which part of creating your presentation has required the most thought or creativity? What choices have you made with your information, images, or slide design to help communicate your understanding of the story? Explain.

the part of my presentation I had to find the most thought was in the connection slide. finding a connection between a piece of media I liked was a bit stressful, but I managed. I really liked my connection because I feel like it fits so well, as the character I chose is just a girl version of Mr. Shiftlett. I also just like the film that the characters in a well. in class, we finished our presentations.  making the presentation was nice and easy, and quicker than I thought it would take.
