Analyze how you’ve adapted to the demands of this course over the past week, and evaluate one strength and one challenge you anticipate as we progress, justifying your insights with personal examples.

I've adapted to the demands of this week overall well. one strength is my creative mindset which was helpful when I needed to make my own myth from scratch. however, one challenge I knew was gonna bother me a bit were these blog posts. I'm still having a lack of confidence with my ability to stick with them every week, but for now I'm managing.  Today's lesson was just making corrections to our myth story. I did fairly well on it yesterday and only had to do minor corrections today which I'm proud of.

How did creating your own origin myth help you better understand why cultures use stories to explain the origins of people, places, traditions, or natural events? In your response, describe the choices you made while developing your myth and explain the lesson, value, or human responsibility you wanted your story to communicate.

Creating my own creation myth helped me realize how interesting and more captivating storytelling was. I feel as if I could retain information much better by being captivated like that. stories like that help people understand their natural world better, and make sense of the reality we live in. I made my story to explain how the balance in the world worked. The moral of my story was to teach others that we have to respect one another, and that we shouldn't go around hurting each other.  Today's assignment was all about writing our own story. The assignment was really nice because of how creative I was getting while making my story. I truly enjoyed this one, and I hope we get to do more writing like this another time in the class.

Aug 11: Write about a meaningful object or place in your life that carries a story.

A meaningful object to me would be the album "The Changing of Times" by Underoath. The album helped me through a lot by talking about hardships and making it through them while still struggling. Its a Christian album which helps me through the days listening to it by giving me hope.  The lesson today was us reading through a Navajo myth and answered questions about it. The lesson was interesting, especially since I really only hear about the biblical story of creation.

Aug 10: Write about a time you felt connected to nature, like the kinship in Native American myths

A  moment I felt connected to nature was when I went to a shrine in Japan. the shrine was covered with greenery and life. I felt as if the spirits of nature were with me as I walked through the area, as if I was welcomed by the land itself, mixing with the influences of the humans that built the shrine.  The lesson we learned today was all about native American literature and its elements. We were shown elements such as kinship with the land, living one with nature, and having reverence for the land. Just learning about this in one lesson, it opened my eyes on how I should respect all living things as equals, and to not hold one over another, not even myself.

3 goals I want to achieve this year.

the three goals I have for myself this year would be to further pursue music, film making, and stay on top of my school work. I want to succeed with my band by making music, playing shows, and even potentially going on a southern tour, ambitious as it sounds. not only do I wish to make music, I hope to improve my film making and directing, all to grow my hope to be in a career of film making. though all these personal goals may take a lot of time, I hope to stay above my work better than I did last school year to keep good grades.
