How did creating your own origin myth help you better understand why cultures use stories to explain the origins of people, places, traditions, or natural events? Creating my own creation myth helped me realize how interesting and more captivating storytelling was. I feel as if I could retain information much better by being captivated like that. stories like that help people understand their natural world better, and make sense of the reality we live in. I made my story to explain how the balance in the world worked. The moral of my story was to teach others that we have to respect one another, and that we shouldn't go around hurting each other. 

Today's assignment was all about writing our own story. The assignment was really nice because of how creative I was getting while making my story. I truly enjoyed this one, and I hope we get to do more writing like this another time in the class.

 a word I've been using recently is "majorly". I use it when I want to describe an abundance of an action. for example, I'll say "he's tripping majorly" whenever I think somebody does or says something crazy. the word is funny to me, and I guess that's why it means a lot to me, since it makes me laugh a bit when I say it. the phrase might just mean I like to make myself laugh a lot, which is something true about me. in class, we did a vocabulary lesson. the vocabulary was interesting to me, and I honestly think I'll like learning new words to hopefully use them in my everyday speech.

  my first house in Norcross holds many memories for me. it was a two story town house that was like every other house in the neighborhood, but it was mine. I had my first dog there, and my first nightmares as a kid. I lost stuff there but I also found new and returning things in my life. it represents my early childhood with how big it felt, yet so small now that I return to visit once in a while. in class we read one part of a story and did some questions on it. the story helped me recall a big part of my life, my childhood. I should reflect on my upbringing, and I have this story to thank for that.
