In “Her Sweet Weight on My Heart a Night” by Emily Dickinson, the speaker describes the emotional weight another person can have on us. Think about someone who has left a lasting impact on your life. In what ways do you still carry that person with you?

 somebody that left a lasting impact on my life would be my dad. I carry his name with me wherever I go, his laugh, his smile, his curls, his personality. All of it I bring with me, because he meant so much to me. I'll continue to bring it because I'm proud of what he shaped me to become. 

in class we worked on our projects and switched to doing a common lit.

the poem was nice, a little hard to decipher, but still nice once I understood what it meant. I liked this question as a blog post, really nice to think about these things.

 a word I've been using recently is "majorly". I use it when I want to describe an abundance of an action. for example, I'll say "he's tripping majorly" whenever I think somebody does or says something crazy. the word is funny to me, and I guess that's why it means a lot to me, since it makes me laugh a bit when I say it. the phrase might just mean I like to make myself laugh a lot, which is something true about me. in class, we did a vocabulary lesson. the vocabulary was interesting to me, and I honestly think I'll like learning new words to hopefully use them in my everyday speech.

In Part I of A Rose for Emily, Emily’s house stands out from the community and reflects both her past and the changes happening around her. Think about a house, building, or place that holds special memories for you. What does that place look like, what memories do you connect with it, and what does it represent

  my first house in Norcross holds many memories for me. it was a two story town house that was like every other house in the neighborhood, but it was mine. I had my first dog there, and my first nightmares as a kid. I lost stuff there but I also found new and returning things in my life. it represents my early childhood with how big it felt, yet so small now that I return to visit once in a while. in class we read one part of a story and did some questions on it. the story helped me recall a big part of my life, my childhood. I should reflect on my upbringing, and I have this story to thank for that.
